Report: [1] Touleshkov (1960a). Host: Stercorarius pomarinus (Temminck) [1]. Distribution in Bulgaria: Sv. Ivan isl. near Sozopol [1]. Złotorzycka (1963) placed this species in the genus Larithophilus Złotorzycka, 1963 . According to Price et al.
(2003), Actornithophilus brachycephalus is an unidentifiable species. It is not included in the checklist of
Fauna Europaea (2004). The status of the material reported from Bulgaria under this name requires further studies.
