Cestradoretus tenuirostris Ohaus, 1912 ( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 A–G, 2I)

Cestradoretus tenuirostris Ohaus, 1912: 417 .

Type material examined. Holotype ♂ ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 A–C): “ Antananarivo Madagascar F.Sikora / Type / Cestradoretus tenuiro- stris Ohs / Syntype Cestradoretus tenuirostris Ohaus, 1912 labelled by MFNB 2018” ( MFNB).

Additional material. 1♂: “ Morondava Foret sud de Befasy I-56, R.P. [R. Paulian]” ( MNHN) ; 5♂ and 4♀: “Pce Tu- lear [Toliara Province] Ambovombe P. Clément ” ( MNHN) ; 1♀: “Muséum Paris Madagascar Ankazoabo J. Bastard 1902” ( MNHN) ; 3♂: “Muséum Paris Madagascar Reg. d’Ankazoabo C. Le Barbier 1920” ( MNHN) .

Differential diagnosis. Cestradoretus tenuirostris differs from C. melolonthoides , new combination in having parameres more fused apically (separated by triangular sinuation, Fig. 1B View FIGURES 1 ), having no spine dorsobasally, and lighter color with elytra having no longitudinal stripes. The sexual dimorphism is weaker than in C. melolonthoides , new combination.

Female differs from male in having shorter antenna, wider elytra, smaller tarsal claw being longer, and longer apical abdominal sternite ( Fig. 1D, F, G View FIGURES 1 ).

Distribution. Central, Western and Southern Madagascar: S.-P. Tananarivo, S.-P. Modondava, S.-P. Ankazoabo, and S.-P. Ambovombe ( Fig. 2I View FIGURES 2 ).

Remarks. The type specimen was labelled by the MFNB staff as a “ syntype ”, but it can be inferred from the original description that Ohaus examined only one specimen that should hence be considered as a holotype.
