TYPE SPECIES: Nuurtherium baruunensis , sp. nov .

ETYMOLOGY: Nuur -, Mongolian, “lake,” fossils at Shar Teg were preserved in a cyclic sequence of fluvial and lake beds (see Ponomarenko et al., 2014).

AGE: As for the type and only species.
