Taxonomy.

H. Aspöck et al. (1991). Pontoraphidia is a well differentiated subgenus with four species,one of them with two subspecies. The sister taxon is possibly Magnoraphidia .

Biology and ecology.

Larvae of all species soil-dwelling in detritus between roots of bushes. Development two to Subilla three years. Adults: V-VIII, in various, particularly warmer habitats with rich vegetation of bushes in altitudes from 600-2200 m.

Distribution.

The distribution comprises the southern parts of the Apennine Peninsula, the northern Balkan Peninsula, Eastern Europe and Anatolia.
