Holotype. COFM BRRS0029 one adult. Type locality. CultiVated pasture, Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, 2943'05.32''S 5342'25.19''O, 79 masl. 0 9 NoVember 2010, G.P.K. Steffen & R.B. Steffen colls.

Paratype. COFM BRRS 0030 one adult. Some locality as holotype.

Etymology. The species is named due to its occurrence in pastures.

Description. Dimensions: holotype 134 mm by 9.0 mm at x, 10.0 mm at clitellum, 7.0 mm at xxx, 194 segments; paratype 126 mm by 9.0 mm at x, 10.0 mm at clitellum and 7.0 mm at xxx, 209 segments. Body cylindrical and slightly flattened. Setae ab Visible on xxii, cd Visible after clitellum. Setae closely paired throughout; setal formula aa:ab:bc:cd:dd = 5.7:0.2:1:0.1:8.8 at xxx. Prostomium prolobous, post-setal secondary annulations present Viii–xiV and after clitellum. Unpigmented, Whitish, clitellum slightly pink. OVipores in b on xiV, 7 mm apart; male pores 6.5 mm apart on xVii Within paired oVal dimpled porophores; clitellum saddle to just aboVe b, xV–xxii ( Fig. 3C,D View FIGURE 3 ). Nephropores near b line.

Septa 5/6 thin, 6/7–10/11 equally thick and muscular, septum 11/12 absent. Alimentary canal With large cylindrical gizzard in Vi; esophagus With high lamellae in cheVron pattern Vii–ix, ValVular in xiV, intestinal origin xV; typhlosole origin xVi–xViii simple lamina, xix–xxViii, zig-zag With Ventral edge bent oVer to form pockets, after xxix becoming triple lamina. Calciferous glands paired xii, under seminal Vesicles, composite-tubular type, oVal to round, pedunculated; blood Vessels to gland include large branch of dorsal Vessel to approximate center of each gland. Holonephric, Vesiculate; ducts to body Wall near leVel of b.

Vascular system With Ventral trunk, single dorsal trunk, lateral Vessels in Vii–ix, latero-esophageal hearts in x– xi, last pair (xi) enclosed in testes sac. Extra-esophageal Vessel from pharyngeal glands, along Ventral–lateral face of gizzard, esophagus back to calciferous glands; supraesophageal Vessel in x–xi.

OVaries, oVarian funnels free in xiii; spermathecae absent. Male sexual system metandric, testes and funnels paired in xi, short U form, fused With seminal Vesicles; medial to hearts of xi pass narroW tubes to seminal Vesicles; seminal Vesicles expanded in xii, penetrate septa and range posteriorly along intestine to xVii; seminal Vesicles large, lobulated; Vasa deferentia long, looped from xi, form dense zig-zag on body Wall en route to front face of the flattened short oVal muscular copulatory bulbs, join the bulbs in xVi, bulbs extend oVer xVi–1/3 xix. Copulatory bulbs With thin muscular outer layer, dense, delicate corrugated glandular inner surface With small lumen leading to male pore at approximate center of bulb connection to body Wall; many thin muscle bands crossing transVersely oVer bulbs.

Remarks. Glossoscolex (Glossoscolex) pastivus is close to Glossoscolex (G.) colonorum and to G. (G.) pampas n. sp. (see beloW for description and species comparison). The differences betWeen G. (G.) pastivus and G. (G.) colonorum are as folloWs, With the characteristics of the latter in parentheses: clitellum xV–xxii (xV–xx, xxi), body diameter 7–10 mm (3,5–6,5 mm), calciferous gland in xii (in xi), testis sacs short, U form, fused With seminal Vesicles in xi (unpaired in xi), copulatory bulbs flattened, short, oVal (globular) ( Table 1).
