Material examined. Holotype: [♀ ( IEBR)], Bac Kan Province, Ba Be NP, 16.v.2014, light trap, Hoang Vu Tru leg.

Description of holotype, habitus: Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 , female, length of fore wing 20 mm. Head. Antenna with 33 flagellomeres, first flagellomere about 1.3× length of second. Frons concave and subpolished medially, punctate laterally, dorsally with transverse wrinkles, carina between antennal sockets not extending to upper margin of face. Face 0.8× as high as wide, densely, coarsely punctate, and with transverse wrinkles. Clypeus about 0.6× as high as wide, distinctly separated into basal and apical halves, basally raised, similarly sculptured as face, apical half thin, sparsely finely punctate ( Fig. 3a View FIGURE 3 ). Exposed part of labrum about 0.4× as long as basal width. Malar space about 0.9× basal width of mandible. Mandible striate-punctate basally. Diameter of lateral ocellus equal to ocellar-ocular distance. Vertex densely punctate ( Fig. 3b View FIGURE 3 ). Occipital carina weakly convex dorsally, ventrally meeting hypostomal carina about 0.8× basal mandibular width from base of mandibular width.

Mesosoma. Epomia weak, about 0.4× as long as basal mandibular width. Pronotum with short striae at posterior edge, posterior corner with large punctures, pubescent. Mesoscutum more or less rounded, as long as wide at anterior level of tegulae, densely punctate, pubescent, convergence area of notauli with two sinuous longitudinal carinae. Scutellum densely and coarsely punctate, pubescent, lateral carina present basally. Postscutellum smooth, medially pubescent. Mesopleuron densely coarsely punctate or striate-punctate except impunctate area medially, epicnemial carina complete. Metapleuron densely, irregularly striated ( Fig. 3c View FIGURE 3 ). Pleural part of propodeum with strong striations above and below elongate spiracle, area externa densely striate-punctate, pubescent, area basalis small, as long as its apical width, area dentipara striate, area superomedia well defined, with transverse striation basally, punctate and pubescent posteriorly, area postero-externa smooth and glabrous ( Fig. 3f View FIGURE 3 ); fore basitarsus 3.2× as long as second tarsomere; mid basitarsus 3.0× second tarsomere; hind femur 3.7× as long as wide, 0.7× length of tibia, tarsus 0.8× tibial length, basitarsus 2.9× second tarsomere, fifth tarsomere 1.9× longer than third, 1.1× longer than second. Fore wing vein Rs&M distad of cu-a, vein 2 rs-m distad of 2 m-cu about 0.5× length of 2 rs-m; distance between two bullae on 2 m-cu equal to length of bulla; hind wing with first abscissa of vein Cu 1 about 0.7× length of vein cu-a ( Fig. 3e View FIGURE 3 ).

Metasoma. Tergites densely punctate, pubescent; first tergite sparser punctate than other tergites, 1.8× as long as its apical width, lateral longitudinal carina present basally; second tergite 0.5× as long as first tergite, 1.1× longer than third ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ); first sternite short, with sharp tubercle beset with erect setae ( Fig. 3d View FIGURE 3 ); ovipositor long with small teeth on both lower and upper valve apically, ovipositor sheath about 2.8× as long as hind tibia; subgenital plate 1.4× as long as second tergite, with rounded apex.

Colour. Head and mesosoma reddish yellow, flagellomeres black, except reddish yellow scape and pedicel, without a white band, metasomal tergites black with yellow marks; fore and mid legs reddish yellow; hind leg black except trochanter, trochantellus yellow, femur ventrally and tibia reddish yellow; wings reddish yellow, with dark markings at apical margin, below Rs+ 2 r and at level of 2nd discal cell.

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. Currently known only from Bac Kan Province, Northeast Vietnam.

Comparison. The new species can be easily distinguished from its congeners by its coloration; the reddish yellow head and mesosoma combined with the black with yellow marked metasomal tergites are distinctive. In addition, the new species has a broad and sharp tubercle on the first sternite.

Etymology. The new species was named after its type locality, Ba Be National Park.
