Type material. Holotype: female on slide, China: Jilin: Changbai Mountain, 22.vii.2009, collected by J.X. Chen, Z.X. Pan & F. Zhang (sample number C9598). Paratypes: 4 females on slide, same data as holotype. All deposited in NJU.

Description. Body length up to 2.32 mm. Body white.

Antenna 1.5 times as long as cephalic diagonal. Antennal segments ratio as I: II: III: IV = 1: 2.17–2.22: 1.89–1.99: 3.33–3.67. Smooth spiny mic at the basis of antennae: 3 dorsal, 3 ventral on Ant. I, 1 internal, 1 external and 1 ventral on Ant. II. Ant. II internally with four long smooth straight chaetae and distally with 1 dorsal rod-like chaeta. Two internal sensilla of Ant. III organ slightly expanded ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A). Subapical organite of Ant. IV swollen ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 B).

Eyes absent. Prelabral and labral chaetae 4/ 5, 5, 4, all smooth; five chaetae of the first row subequal. Papilla E with 4 guard chaetae; lateral process of labial palp thick as normal chaetae, with tip reaching beyond apex of labial papilla ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C). Subapical chaeta of maxillary outer lobe slightly larger than apical one; 3 smooth sublobal hairs on maxillary outer lobe. Labial chaetae as MREL1L2, all smooth, R/M=0.7–0.8; chaetae X and X4 as smooth tiny mic; chaetae X2 and X3 absent. Cephalic groove with 7(8) chaetae, anterior 4 smooth ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 D). Dorsal cephalic chaetotaxy with 3 sutural (S) and 3 mac in Gr. II. Clypeal chaetae smooth ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 E).

Th. II with 3 medio-medial (m1, m2, m 2i), 2 medio-lateral (m4, m4p), 18 posterior mac and 3 lateral S-chaetae: 1 ms and 2 s. Th. III with 23–26 mac and 2 lateral s; p5 as mic ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 F).

Trochanteral organ with 13–16 smooth spiny chaetae; 9–10 in arms and 4–6 between them ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 G). Inner differentiated tibiotarsal chaetae ciliate with ciliations not closely appressed to axis. Unguis with 3 inner teeth; 2 paired teeth unequal, outer one large and 1 unpaired tooth. Unguiculus outer edge with a large tooth. Tenent hair I–III pointed, subequal to unguiculus in length ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 H).

Abd. IV 2.41–3.00 times as Abd. III in length along dorsal midline. Abd. I with 5 (m2–4, m 2i, m4p) mac and 2 S-chaetae: 1 ms and 1 s; m2 and m 2i rarely absent. Abd. II usually with 3 (m3, m3e, m3ep) central, 1 (m5) lateral mac and 2 s; mac m 3ei rarely present. Abd. III with 1 (m3) central, 3 (am6, pm6, p6) lateral mac and 2 s ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A). Abd. IV with 4 central (I, M––according Zhang et al., 2011b, B5, A6), 3 lateral mac (E2–4); most s more than two times of those on Abd. III in length but their number not clearly seen ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 B). Abd. V with 3 s, lateral one more anterior than general position ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 C). Tenaculum with 4 + 4 teeth and one large striate chaeta. Ventral tube anteriorly with 5+5 ciliate anterior chaetae ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 D); 9 posterior smooth chaetae ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 E); each lateral flap with 7 smooth chaetae. Furcula laterally with smooth straight chaetae, 2 of them on base of dens and others on manubrium. Manubrial plaque with 2 pseudopores and 2 ciliate chaetae. Distal smooth part of dens 1.2–1.3 times of mucro in length ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 F).

Ecology. Under stones of mixed forest.

Etymology. Named after Mr. Pan who helped to collect the animals.

Remarks. This new species is closest to C. borerae Christiansen & Bellinger, 1992 in absence of eyes, claw structure, manubrial smooth chaetae present, ciliate differentiated tibiotarsal chaetae, chaetotaxy of Abd. I, II and central Abd. IV, but differs from the latter in presence of mac p6 on Abd. III, 3+3 lateral mac on Abd. IV, more spiny (13–16) chaetae on trochanteral organ, and 9 chaetae on posterior face of ventral tube.
