Trichrysis longispina ( Mocsáry, 1912)

(= Trichrysis fulvicornis Strumia & Dawah, 2019 syn. nov.)

Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Oman ( Linsenmaier 1994 as Chrysis (Trichrysis) longispina ; Strumia 2009), Saudi Arabia ( Strumia & Dawah 2010, 2012, 2019), United Arab Emirates ( Strumia 2014; Rosa et al. 2017c), Yemen ( Mocsáry 1912 as Chrysis (Trichrysis) longispina ; Strumia 2009).

Extralimital distribution: Iran ( Farhad et al. 2016b).

Remarks: Trichrysis flavicornis Strumia & Dawah, 2019 was described from a single aberrant specimen, without mention of relevant diagnostic characters, and merely based on the unusual coloration. This is likely a case of rufinism or post-mortem alteration (see also Chrysis decolorata Strumia & Dawah, 2019 under Chrysis viridissima Mocsáry, 1912 , above). Both specimens were collected in the same Malaise trap on the same day and their altered colour may be the result of a climatic event or storage conditions.
