Type:— COLOMBIA. Nariño: East side of Lake Laguna Cocha , 5 km south of Hotel Guamues , 2750 m. 23 Jul 1989, Dodson & Escobar 18130 (holotype: AMES; UGDA, drawing!) .

Notes:— Not Stelis dodsonii Luer (2002: 42) . The new name also honours Calaway Dodson as the original.
