Lepanthes velosa Luer & Hirtz (2009: 244-256) , nom. inval.

Type:— ECUADOR. Pichincha: between Androas and the Guayallababa river , to the west of San Miguel de los Bancos , 800 m, Mar 2004, Hirtz et al. 8693 (holotype: MO!) .

Notes:— Lepanthes velosa was not validly published by Luer & Hirtz (2009) according to Art. 40.7 because the authors failed to state in which herbarium the type specimen was deposited. The name is validated here, and the specimen annotated by Luer as type at the Missouri Botanical Garden is designated as holotype.
