Type:— COLOMBIA. Quebrada Chicó. Hills above Bogotá, 11000 ft., Allen 3003 (holotype: AMES, UGDA drawing) .

Notes:— Not Stelis allenii Williams (1942: 338–339) . The new name honours the same botanist as the original.
