Host-plants. Carpinus orientalis Mill. and Corylus avellana L. in the Crimea; in other regions also other species of Carpinus and Corylus , as well as cultivated Ostrya carpinifolia Scop.

Distribution. Euro-Mediterranean; the species occurs from Spain and Ireland to Finland, central European Russia and Greece.

Material examined. CRIMEA: Yalta, Mountain Forest Reserve and Botanical Garden, empty leaf-mines on Carpinus orientalis M. Bieb. , fieldwork card no. 5041, 19.vii.2011, leg. A. Diškus & A. Navickaitė; 23 km S Simferopol, near Angarskij Pereval, empty leaf-mines on Carpinus orientalis M. Bieb. , fieldwork card no. 5041, 21.vii.2011, A. Diškus & A. Navickaitė; 20 km SW Feodosiya, Karadag Reserve, larva on Corylus avellana L., fieldwork card no. 5041, 24.vii.2011, leg. A. Diškus & A. Navickaitė.

Remarks. The species is not rare in the Crimea: widespread and abundant.
