The description was based on the single holotype male from Piroe, Ceram, Moluccan Islands west of New Guinea and is very detailed. No other record is published to date.

Material examined. 1♂ pinned and remounted on card:” L.J.Toxopeus / Buru, Station 9/ 26 IV–1 VI 21” ( CEHI). Buru is an island west of Ceram but smaller .

P. ceramensis belongs to the truncatus-productus group of species sharing the truncate terminal segments. It is however distinguished from both taxa by the smaller size, the shorter and more laterally directed lobately produced pe-angles of deltg VI and the longer triangular projection of deltg VII which extends beyond the apex of pygophore (fig. 29). The lateral margins of deltg IV and V are subparallel and the pe-angles only feebly produced as in productus . The single male available was not dissected. The conical posterior projection of its pygophore is shorter than in productus and truncatus .

Females are still unknown.

Measurements: Length 10.9 mm; head length/width 23/14.5; pronotum w/l 41/18; scutellum w/l 21/15; length of antennal segments I/II/III/IV = 15/7.5/13/7.5; ratio length of antennae/width of head 2.96 (43/14.4); width of abdomen across tergite III 49, VI 62, VII 29.

Distribution: To date only known from Ceram and Buru Island. Map 2.
