Diagnosis. Body small to large size. Head not exerted, vertex generally as broad as or wider than an eye, narrowed in front, extends up to the level of eyes in front, depressed on either side, median carinula distinct anteriorly, lateral carinulae elevated on the level of eyes and reflexed laterally in front, frontal costa bifurcate behind the paired ocelli, moderately sulcate in front, paired ocelli placed between the middle of the eyes. Antennae filiform, inserted between the lower margins or lower one third of anterior margins of eyes. Eyes globular in shape. Pronotum transverse anteriorly, subulate posteriorly, extends beyond the apices of posterior femora, dorsum finely granulated, sometimes sparingly tuberculose, nearly flat, median carina nearly obsolete or distinct in front, slightly swollen between the sulci behind, lateral carina interrupted on the sulci in front of shoulders, low behind, prozonal lateral carinae distinct and parallel or convergent behind, abbreviated carinae present or not, paranota with two projections, posterior angles of lateral lobes of pronotum acute, straight or directed backwards or without distinct lateral spine. Tegmina elongated, rounded at apex. Wings as long as or shorter than pronotum. Anterior and middle femora elongated, margins finely serrulated, posterior tibiae normal at apex, first segment of posterior tarsi longer than the third, third pulvillus longer than first and second pulvilli or all the pulvilli equal in length.
