Nigrimacula compressata View in CoL sp. nov., Chinese name R尾Ḣü⁂

( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 , 3 View FIGURE 3 )

Description. Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, with a longitudinal sulcus on dorsal surface, apex rounded. Eyes nearly globular, slightly protruding forwards. Apical segment of maxillary palpus almost as long as subapical one, apex slightly inflated.

Pronotum with anterior margin almost straight, posterior margin obtusely rounded; lateral lobe longer than high, humeral sinus shallow. Thoracic auditory spiracle exposed, reniform.

Tegmen surpassing apex of hind femur, apex obtusely rounded. Hind wing slightly longer than tegmen.

Forecoxa with a short spine. All femora unarmed on ventral surfaces. Internal and external margins of ventral surface of fore tibia with 5 long spines separately, apical spine comparatively short, tibial tympana opened on both sides. Middle tibia with 3 relatively short spines on internal margin of ventral surface, external margin with 5 long spines, apical spine distinctly shorter than the others. Genicular lobes of hind femur with apices obtusely rounded on both sides; hind tibia with 16 internal and 18 external spines on dorsal surface, apex with 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs.

Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite faintly concave. Cercus comparatively long, slightly curved inwards and upwards, basal area slightly stout, gradually compressed from base towards apex, apical half with a shallow and longitudinal concavity, ventral margin of apical area moderately expanded inwards, tip obtusely rounded in lateral view; with a lamellar and nearly triangular process near the middle of ventral margin on inner surface. Subgenital plate trapezoidal, basal area slightly wide, apical half narrow, posterior margin subtruncate. Styli short conical, apices obtusely rounded, inserted on lateral margins of apical area of subgenital plate.

Coloration. General color yellowish brown (probably green when alive). Fastigium verticis black, occiput with a broad longitudinal yellowish brown stripe along the midline. Eyes reddish brown. Disc of pronotum with a broad longitudinal yellowish brown stripe in the midline, which becoming broader and lighter in metazona than preceding area. Anterior margin of disc with a pair of black brown spots; near middle area with a pair of black brown spots. Apical half of tegmen with some irregular dark spots. Spines on dorsal margin and apical spurs of hind tibia with apical half areas black.

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype: ♂, Laoshan, Malipo, Yunnan, China, 30 July, 2021, coll. Qi Guo and Yanhao Duan. Other specimen: 1♂, the same data as holotype.

Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 9.8–10.2; pronotum: ♂ 3.6–3.9; tegmen: ♂ 13.5–14.8; hind femur: ♂ 6.2–6.5.

Remarks. This new species resembles Nigrimacula paraquadrinotata ( Wang, Liu & Li, 2015) and Nigrimacula sichuanensis Wang & Shi, 2016 , but it differs from the former in male cercus almost of equal width in lateral view, ventral margin of apical area moderately expanded. The new species differs from the latter in: male cercus with a lamellar and nearly triangular process near the middle of ventral margin on inner surface, apical area moderately expanded.

Distribution. China (Yunnan)

Etymology. The name of new species is named for the shape of the male cercus which is gradually compressed from base towards apex; from Latin ‘ compress -’ (compressive).
