Synonymy. See Hooper (2002).

Type species: Hymeraphia clavata Bowerbank, 1866 (by monotypy).

Definition. Typically, encrusting Raspailiidae with microcionid skeletal structure in which fibre nodes ascend from the basal layer of spongin ( Hooper 2002).
