Ortezia magniceps ( Cresson, 1867) comb. nov.

Ichneumon magniceps Cresson, 1867: 299 .

Lectotype Ƥ (IES # 528) lacking only the distal part of the wings. This species was described by Cresson from two specimens; the second, a male in ANSP, was stated by Townes and Townes (1966) as paratype. However, Cresson did not make any type restriction so both must be considered as syntypes. We hereby select the IES specimen as the lectotype. Townes and Townes (1966) placed this species in the genus Ichneumon View in CoL , although Ichneumon View in CoL in their sense should now be called Coelichneumon View in CoL . We consider the species to be better placed in Ortezia View in CoL .
