Current name: Amaranthus cruentus L. View in CoL View at ENA ( Amaranthaceae ).

Note: Stevels (in Wageningen Agric. Univ. Pap. 90-1: 106. 1990) gave an extensive review, but wrongly attributed the typification to Sauer (in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 54: 122. 1967), who discussed the specimen but did not treat it as the type.
