Diaugia angusta Perty 1833: 187 View in CoL , plate 37, fig. 9. Type locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais. A remaining male syntype at USNM (sec Nihei & Pavarini, 2011). References: Macquart (1835: 210, discussion of systematic placement of Diaugia View in CoL as “Dexiaires” [ Dexiini View in CoL , in part]); Wulp (1891: 250c, discussion about the possible affinity between Leptoda View in CoL [= Zelia View in CoL ] and D. angusta View in CoL ); Guimarães (1971: 101, as “Diaughia”, catalogue); Tschorsnig 1985: 100 (as “Diaughia”, citation, male terminalia characterization); Nihei & Pavarini (2011, taxonomic revision of D. angusta View in CoL ); O’Hara et al. (2020: 42; checklist of World Tachinidae View in CoL ).

Diagnosis. Eye bare. Facial carina undeveloped. Katerpisternum with 2 setae. Abdomen elongate and about twice the length of thorax, with tergite 5 ending in a conical shape. Without median marginal setae on tergites 3 and 4. Similar to Z. picta on abdominal characters, but can be differentiated by: interrupted median brown longitudinal vitta on syntergite 1+2 to tergite 5.

Complete redescription, including the description and illustration of male terminalia, and the recognition and description the female, was given by Nihei & Pavarini (2011).

Distribution. Brazil (Goiás, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina states).
