Family Cucumellidae View in CoL n. fam.

Diagnosis. Dactylochirotid holothuroids with 12 tentacles; calcareous ring simple, no posterior bifurcations to radial plates; test absent; body wall ossicles comprise simple tables with a trilocular to multilocular, smooth disc and a solid spire ending in 2–3 smooth, diverging processes/teeth.

Remarks. The family is currently monotypic containing only the genus Cucumella with its type species and the new species described herein.
