Distribution: British Isles, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal (including Madeira) ( Gregory et al., 2015).

Remarks: This species seems to be native to central and southern Italy, and it has spread due to human activity ( Lindner et al., 2010). In the British Isles it can be found in cultivated or anthropized woodlands, gardens and parks, in deadwood and leaf litter, under moss, or in soil interstices, showing a preference for damp localities ( Gregory et al., 2015). In Germany it was found under deadwood in a resting area of a highway, close to ornamental flower beds ( Lindner et al., 2010).
