Black with yellow and brown markings. Labium and legs pale yellow. Crown with carinae pale yellow except apically. Mesonotum with longitudinal stripe along inner margin of basal triangle joining the lateral marginal stripe beyond median impressed line, white. Forewing dark brown with dirty yellow veins and light brown marginal areas of cells; two spots on costal area, proximal being smaller than the distal and one smaller spot at middle of cell M hyaline, apices of forewings enclosing inner three apical cells, pale brown. Abdominal terga laterally yellow, sterna dark brown with lighter segmental areas.

Male genitalia. Pygofer rather triangular, with a few short setae on posterodorsal angle, dark brown except for large clear area near basal fracture, ventral pygofer process slender elongate, exceeding height of lobe, apically with convoluted thickening. Subgenital plate exceeding pygofer, median area with macrosetae in three rows, margins with slender hair-like short setae. Style short and stout, apex of apophysis foot-shaped with less developed heel. Connective with arms closely spaced, stem 1.5 times as long as arms. Aedeagus complex; shaft tubular with posterior marginal groove, laterally flanked by wing-like dorsolateral lobes bearing sclerotized pigmented ventral appendage on cephalic margin, with two ventral marginal projections, gonopore apical, dorsal apodeme plate-like with median longitudinal ridge.

Female genitalia. Seventh sternite longer than sixth, median area dark pigmented medially, posterior margin with median rounded lobe flanked on either side with triangular projection.

Measurements. Male 8.3 mm long, 1.5 mm wide across eyes and 1.8 wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum. Female 9.7 mm long, 1.7 mm wide across eyes and 1,9 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum.

Material examined. Holotype ♂, INDIA: Mizoram: Lunglei , 28.xi.1981, C.S. Wesley ( UAS) . Paratype ♀, INDIA: Meghalaya: Nongpoh , 762 m, 4.xi.1981, C.A. Viraktamath ( UASB) .

Remarks. Among the known Indian species of Evacanthini , this species can be easily recognized by its triangularly produced head in front of the eyes and by the fused claval veins. In male genitalia characters it resembles S. dentatus Li & Wang , but can be differentiated by the more complex structure of the dorsolateral lobe of the aedeagus, which has two ventral marginal projecting processes (one in S. dentatus ).
