Bundera venata Distant 1908: 228 View in CoL –229, fig. 143.

Crown ochraceous with large polygonal discal spot, one smaller spot on either side of median line anteriorly visible on facial view also, black; one median anterior small spot and one smaller spot on posterior margin near eye, brown. Face ochraceous, median carina on frontoclypeus brown. Disc of pronotum medially black, lateral areas ochraceous. Mesonotum black with lateral margins of scutellum narrowly ochraceous. Ventral areas of thoracic and abdominal pleurites, sternites and legs, ochraceous. Forewing black with costal area broadly hyaline, inner margin narrowly ochraceous.

Crown conically rounded in front of eyes, medially shorter than pronotum. Disc of pronotum transversely rugose. Mesonotum transversely rugose, basal triangles granulose.

Female genitalia. Seventh sternite with posterior margin deeply concavely excavated, with lateral angles rounded.

Measurements. Female 4.5 mm long, 1.2 mm wide across eyes and 1.35 mm wide across hind margins of pronotum.

Material examined. MYANMAR: Lectotype ♀ ( Figs 6M–P View FIGURES 6 ) (here designated) “ Myitta, Doherty ” “ Bundera venata Dist. type [Distant’s hw]” “ Distant Coll. 1911-383” ( BMNH) “ Type H. T. [red edged disc]”.

Remarks. Originally described from an unspecified number of specimens (syntypes) with the following data: “Tenasserim; Myitta (Doherty)”. B. venata closely resembles B. acutivertex and also an undescribed species (female) from Manipur (Ukhrul, 1647 m, 25o 06’ 485” N, 94o 21’ 022” E, 28.viii.2014, Yeshwanth, H.M.) in coloration but differs in having a more broadly rounded anterior margin of the crown and lateral margins of pronotum broadly ochraceous. The female specimen from Manipur is much longer (5.4 mm long) and has darker facial markings and the pronotum is black with a narrow posterior marginal ochraceous border although it has a similar female seventh sternite.
