Description. Holotype, ♀, length of body 6.1 mm, of fore wing 5.4 mm, of ovipositor sheath 2.6 mm.

Head. Antennomeres 34, length of third antennomere 1.4 × fourth antennomere, length of third, fourth and penultimate antennomeres 4.7, 3.4 and 1.5 × their width, respectively; maxillary palp 0.6 ×height of head; length of malar space 2.1 × basal width of mandible; in dorsal view length of eye 1.1 × temple; POL:OD:OOL = 10:5:11; face shiny, nearly smooth with very sparse minute punctures; between antennal sockets with a short groove; frons, vertex and temple shiny with very sparse minute punctures.

Mesosoma. Length of mesosoma 1.6 × its height; pronotum with sparse fine punctures along anterior and posterior margins; area near lateral carina of mesoscutum crenulate; notauli completely absent; mesoscutum shiny with sparse fine punctures and setae, with a distinct median depression medio-posteriorly; scutellar sulcus short, 0.2 × scutellum and with 5 carinae; scutellum distinctly narrowed posteriorly, sparsely finely punctate; precoxal sulcus absent; mesopleuron shiny, smooth, with sparse punctures anteriorly, dorsally and ventrally; metapleuron largely sparsely punctate; propodeum with two parallel median carinae from base to apex of propodeum.

Wings. Fore wing: second submarginal cell pentagonal; vein SR1 straight; r:3-SR:SR1 = 2:2:31, r:2-SR:r-m = 2:5:6; vein 1-SR+M entirely sclerotized. Hind wing: vein M+CU 1.1 ×vein 1-M.

Legs. Length of hind femur, tibia and basitarsus 3.6, 6.0 and 6.8 × their width, respectively; hind femur (as remainder of hind leg) with short setae; length of outer and inner spur of middle tibia 0.4 and 0.5 × middle basitarsus, respectively; outer apex of hind tibia with a cluster of 3 pegs; length of outer and inner spur of hind tibia 0.4 and 0.5 × hind basitarsus; tarsal claws with medium-sized lobe (remaining distinctly removed from level of apex of claw) and apical tooth slender.

Metasoma. First tergite widened apically, slightly depressed laterally, with short dorsal carinae basally; length of first tergite equal to its apical width; metasoma shiny and smooth but basal half of first tergite faintly striate; ovipositor sheath 0.5 × fore wing.

Colour. Black; palpi, mandible brown; metasoma mostly yellowish red; fore femur, fore and middle tibiae yellowish brown; wing infuscate.

Material examined. Holotype: ♀, China, Zhejiang prov., Tianmushan , 21.VII.1987, Chen Xue-Xin, No. 872728 ( ZJUH) . Paratype: 1♀, China, Zhejiang prov., Tianmushan , 21.VII.1987, Lou Xiao-Ming, No. 874077 ( ZJUH) .

Distribution. China (Zhejiang).

Biology. Unknown.

Etymology. From “longus” (Latin for “long”) and “gena” (Latin for “cheek”), because of the long temple.

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to E. bicolor Chou et Sharkey, 1989 , but differs by having the malar space 2.1 × basal width of mandible (2.6-2.7 × in E. bicolor ); POL 0.9 × OOL (0.7 ×); length of first tergite equal to its apical width (1.3 ×); the fore leg largely yellowish brown (black) and basal half of the first tergite faintly striate (smooth).
