Status at New Ireland. New record, based on confirmed records from an observer program on shark longline vessels 2014 (NFA and CSIRO, unpublished data).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 4, 5.—General distribution: Circumglobal in warm temperate and tropical seas. Oceanic and pelagic, 0–1082 m depth. Marine.
