Encheliophis boraborensis ( Kaup 1856)  — Pinhead pearlfish

Status at New Ireland. Originally described from Carteret Harbour, New Ireland as Fierasfer parvipinnis  by Kaup (1856: 99–100); reported from New Hanover by Peters (1877: 844).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 3.—General distribution: Mauritius east to Caroline and Society islands, north to Taiwan and Yaeyama Islands. Benthic, reef-associated, lives in holothurians, 1–150 m depth. Marine.
