Neomerinthe procurva Chen 1981 —Curvedspine scorpionfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11362 (1 specimen, St. CP 4501-3, 5.3 km westnorthwest of Kavieng). A specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 24 May 2009.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Papua New Guinea, south to northern Western Australia. Found on the continental shelf and slope, 20–920 m depth. Marine.
