Status at New Ireland. New record from Papua New Guinea, based on NTUM 11309 (1 spec., 46.3 mm SL, St. CP 4490-9, northwest of New Hanover); a video of a specimen taken east of Albatross Passage , southwestern Kavieng District , at 3–57 m depth, St. KR 186, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Palau. Found on steep dropoffs, 13–120 m depth. Marine.
