Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Kavieng, New Ireland by Kailola (1975: 97). KFRS material.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Cocos-Keeling Islands east to Marshall and Cook islands, north to Ryukyu and Ogasawara islands. Secretive in crevices in seaward coral reefs, 1–23 m depth. Marine.
