Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 17 Oct. 2007.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Eastern Indonesia east to Marshall Islands and Samoa, north to Yaeyama Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Forming aggregations among branching corals, in sheltered coral reefs, 4–17 m depth. Marine.
