Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11244 (1 spec., 25.7 mm SL, St. CP4458-15, 11.5 km west of Kavieng).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Andaman Sea east to Solomon Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia. Aggregating in groups, among sea urchin spines, 1–180 m depth. Marine.
