Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Kulineua River, New Hanover as Equula decora by Munro (1958: 197).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Seychelles, Réunion (Mascarenes) and India east to Palawan ( Philippines) and New Guinea, north to Gulf of Thailand, south to Onslow (Western Australia). Schooling in coastal waters, 1–30 m depth. Marine.
