Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 595); recorded from New Hanover and Kavieng District by Allen et al. (2015: 78).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Endemic to islands in the northern and eastern Bismarck Sea, Papua New Guinea. Found in sheltered lagoons, associated with branching corals, 2–15 m depth. Marine.
