Enneapterygius tutuilae View in CoL Jordan & Seale 1906—High hat triplefin

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Nusa Island opposite Kavieng, New Ireland by Fricke (1994: 285–297) and Fricke (1997: 337–351), based on USNM 297723 (1). Deeper water specimens apparently belong to an undescribed, cryptic species. NTUM material.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea, East Africa, Madagascar and western Mascarenes east to Caroline and Society islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Cryptic, on coralline rock and in coral reefs, 0–32 m depth. Marine.
