Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 27 May 2007, and at 10 m depth by Dean Tully on 19 Sept. 2015 .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Maldives east to Marshall Islands and Fiji, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Guinea. Sand and rubble bottoms, 1–40 m depth. Marine.
