Status at New Ireland. New record, based on WAM material (WAM P.28185-007, 1 specimen, Kavieng District ).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.— General distribution: India east to Philippines and New Guinea , north to southern Japan , south to northern Australia. Found in lower reaches of rivers and streams including estuaries, 0–5 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine .
