Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11471 ( 1 specimen, 14.0 mm SL, St. KS 47, west side of Tsoilaunung Island, Kavieng District , 02°32.785’S 150°30.827’E, 6 m depth, 18 June 2014).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Philippines and Vanuatu, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found on rubble and algae of dead reefs, 1–6 m depth. Marine.
