Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Konokorr Island, Kavieng District , 3–27 m depth, St. T 10, on 2 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Papua New Guinea, south to northern Australia. Found on seaward reef slopes, 15–45 m depth. Marine.
