Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005 by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey ; a specimen observed at Nemto Island , New Hanover , 4–15 m depth, St. T 23, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Seychelles and Maldives east to Palau and New Guinea, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Queensland ( Australia). Found on seaward reef slopes, 10–50 m depth. Marine.
