Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material ( 1 specimen, St. CP 4496-7, northwest of New Hanover ).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Western Pacific: Philippines north to Japan, south to Australia and New Zealand. Benthopelagic, 125–340 m depth. Marine.
