Micromisumenops View in CoL gen. nov.
Type species. Misumenops xiushanensis Song and Chai, 1990 (♂).
Etymology. The generic name is a combination of Greek prefix micro - (means small, tiny) and Misumenops (Latinized from Greek), refers to the small sized genus which is similar to Misumenops O. P.-Cambridge, 1900; masculine in gender.
Diagnosis. Species of this genus can be separated from Misumenops (and other genera of Misumenini Simon, 1895 ) by: 1) the procurved AER and recurved PER (both recurved in Misumenops ); 2) the small body size: ♂ 2.20– 2.30, ♀ 2.75–3.17 (usually larger body size in Misumenops ); 3) the flat, caudally truncated opisthosoma in the female (opisthosoma slightly swollen, caudally sharp in Misumenops ); and 4) the transverse, spatulate-shaped RTA (usually vertical in Misumenops ) in the male, epigynum without hood in the female.
Description. See description of Micromisumenops xiushanensis .
Species included. Only the type species.
Remarks. This type species was placed provisionally in Misumenops by Song and Chai (1990: 370, figs 9A−E). The generic status of this species was questioned in subsequent study ( Lehtinen 2005: 177). We followed Lehtinen and established Micromisumenops gen. nov. to accommodate this species.
