Type material. Holotype ( Figs 4 View Figures 1–14 , 17 View Figures 15–18 ): male, “SW Thailand | Chumphon [Province], 162m | Pa Toh, Ban Lang Tang | 9°46'5''N, 98°46'59''E | 3. V. 2008 leg. K. Černý ” / “Slide | AV2593 ♂ | A. Volynkin ” (MWM/ ZSM, ex CKC). GoogleMaps
Paratype: THAILAND: male, the same data as in the holotype ( CKC) .
Diagnosis. The forewing length is 7.5 mm in males. Miltochrista banlanga sp. n. ( Fig. 14 View Figures 1–14 ) is externally very similar to M. ranonga sp. n. ( Figs 5–7 View Figures 1–14 ) but distinguished by the discal spot of the forewing fused with the medial line. The male genitalia structure of the new species ( Fig. 17 View Figures 15–18 ) is most similar to M. phupana sp. n. ( Figs 15, 16 View Figures 15–18 ), from which M. banlanga sp. n. differs externally in the more arcuate medial line and the discal spot being fused with the medial line. In the male genital capsule, M. banlanga sp. n. is different from M. phupana sp. n. in its longer vinculum, the broader valva, and the somewhat shorter distal costal and saccular processes. The phallus of the new species is slightly narrower than in M. phupana sp. n. and has a somewhat shorter and narrower carinal crest. The vesica configurations of the two species are similar but in M. banlanga sp. n., the cornuti are longer than in M. phupana sp. n., and the lateral one is markedly longer than the distal one whereas the cornuti of M. phupana sp. n. are equal in length. The detailed comparison with M. ranonga sp. n. is provided below in the diagnosis of this species.
The female is unknown.
Distribution. Southern Thailand (Chumphon Province).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the type locality of the new species. The name is a noun in nominative singular in apposition to the generic name.
