Euphyes kiowah (Reakirt, 1866) View in CoL , reinstated status

Currently considered a south-central subspecies of Euphyes vestris (Boisduval, 1852) (type locality USA: California), Hesperia kiowah Reakirt, 1866 (type locality USA: Rocky Mountains) forms a distinct clade in the genomic tree, separated from other populations currently placed in E. vestris ( Fig. 11 View Figure 11 ). For example, COI barcodes of

the nominotypical E. vestris and a specimen in central Colorado differ by 2.9% (19 bp). Therefore, we propose Euphyes kiowah (Reakirt, 1866) , reinstated status.
