Distribution: — Mexico (Chis, Ver), Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador.

Representative specimens from Veracruz: —Pajapan: T. Krömer & E. Otto 2957 (EBT, MEXU, UC).

Ecology: —Epiphytic; in Los Tuxtlas area in montane rain forest at 1125 m.

Conservation status: — Critically Endangered ( CR) B2 ab(ii,iii) in Veracruz. Known from only a single collection (AOO: 1.4 km 2) made recently at the summit of San Martín Pajapan volcano, which is somewhat protected because it forms part of the nuclear zones of the Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve , but still remains under anthropogenic pressure. Specimens examined: 0; TK collections: 1 .

Note: —In Mexico, this species was so far known only from Chiapas ( Mickel & Smith 2004), and thus this is the first record for Veracruz.
