Etymology. Named in honour of Lalao Sahondra Rahanitriniaina the collector of this and other new species.

Remarks. Found commonly with D. ravelosoni and immediately distinguishable by the paler colour, the shorter antennomeres 3–9, absence of micropterous/apterous females and the form of the genitalia.
