Description: The wall is calcareous and finely perforate. The test is elongate, uniserial and circular in cross-section. The up to seven chambers enlarge as added, with the terminal chamber bulbous and more than twice as long as the preceding chambers. The initial chambers are covered in spines, with the terminal chamber being smoother. Chambers are ornamented by costae that are not continuous. Incised sutures separate the chambers. The aperture is terminal and radiate at the dorsal angle of a pronounced neck.

Remarks: The figured test is relatively large, measuring 0.3 mm in cross section and 1 mm in length.

Life strategy: The elongated cylindrical Nodosaria spp. are generally shallow-infaunal in the upper 5 cm of the sediment (e.g., Olóriz et al., 2006).

Regional occurrence: This species is recorded to occur in middle Miocene sediments of the Namibian outer continental shelf, south of the Kunene River mouth (this study).
