Distribution: SE China (S Gansu to Yunnan) and Taiwan; introduced to England (successfully) and France (no longer present).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Included in muntjak by Haltenorth (1963:42); but see Corbet (1978 c:199).
