Holotype. QGSF 1031C (external mould of partial cephalon).

Diagnosis. See Engel & Morris (1992: 87).

Remarks. Brachymetopus (Brachymetopus) dunstani Mitchell 1918 was diagnosed by Engel & Morris (1992) as a subspecies of Brachymetopus (Brachymetopus) strzeleckii McCoy 1847 , after Gandl’s (1987) suggestion. Differences in cephalic ornament, such as fewer larger nodes on the librigenal, fixigenal and preglabellar fields, and no nodes on the midline of the glabella separates Br. (Brachymetopus) dunstani as a different species, in line with the original diagnosis by Mitchell (1918).
