Type locality. Tinguá , Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Bionomics. Immature stages of Sa. batesi have been found in bamboo internodes ( Lozovei 2001) and sapucaia nut oviposition traps ( Vieira et al. 2020).

Arbovirus infection records. None.

Occurrence in Brazil. States of Amazonas, Espírito Santo, Paraná and Rio de Janeiro ( Lane 1953; Lozovei 2001; Hutchings et al. 2005, 2010; Stanzani et al. 2023).

Occurrence in other countries. None.
