Type locality. Santa Tereza , Espírito Santo, Brazil.

Bionomics. Females were captured with human landing catch at ground level in the Atlantic Forest during daytime ( Abreu et al. 2019; Stanzani et al. 2023).

Arbovirus infection records. None.

Occurrence in Brazil. Espírito Santo, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina ( Lane & Cerqueira 1942; Lane 1953; Gomes et al. 2010 (as Sa. whitmani / identicus ); Dos Santos et al. 2014; Abreu et al. 2019; Silva et al. 2019; Stanzani et al. 2023).
